The? world-famous Wildhorse Saloon is out to discover country music?s next big? act?whether a solo artist, duo or group?with its 4th annual Battle for the Saddle competition.
I am SO excited that my band and I have been chosen to compete in the?contest in Nashville! I can?t wait to perform on that legendary stage! The first round of the contest is this coming Tuesday and there?s a lot on the line for the winner. The contest consists of four preliminary rounds with the finals on May 29th. There are five bands each prelim night and one winner is picked to move on to the finals.
Tuesday, April 10th we will be (hopefully!) rockin the Dan Post Boots Stage, making some noise?to impress?the slightly-intimidating panel of judges. They are Wildhorse General Manager Ron Kerere, Michael Knox, record producer for country megastar Jason? Aldean, Jeff Howard, talent agent for Agency of the Performing Arts and a? ?wild card? celebrity judge that will change for each of the semi-final rounds. Nan Kelley, host on Great American Country (GAC)?is emcee for the? competition.
Up for grabs is alot! The winner receives $2,500, an appearance at the Wildhorse Saloon during? CMA Music Fest?Week, a contract as the featured artist in the Wildhorse?s? entertainment line-up, a music industry showcase, an opening act slot for a? national band and an original song posted on the Wildhorse?s website and social? media channels, along with a photo and a bio.
So, needless to say? I?m a little nervous! But, I can?t wait to get out there with my band and really have a great time!
Even thou it?s a school night we?d LOVE to see y?all out there in that big ole crowd at the Wildhorse! The show starts at 7:00pm this coming Tuesday.
