The University of Phoenix; one of the biggest and most well known for profit universities throughout America is currently owned and operated by the Apollo group. Now, the CEO of the Apollo group has announced that he will be resigning as CEO of the company and as a board member of the company.
Chas Edelstein will be resigning from the company and will become effective starting on the 26 August 2012. Chas is a co-CEO of the company and it is thought that for the time being, the other co-CEO; Gregory Cappelli will take over the main responsibilities for the company. When the CEO has resigned, he will actually take on a new position within the company as a part time employee and senior advisor. The agreement of his new employment has already been defined and he will remain a full time employee nonetheless until August of this year.
It is said that Chas will earn around $10,500 per month when he becomes a salaried employee of the company in August which is actually a rate of $350 per hour. This rumour comes from the U.S Securities and Exchange Commission today.
